The Oswego Village Board recently approved the annexation and rezoning of 81.1 acres for Hudson Pointe II, a proposed residential development planned on the east side of Harvey Road, immediately south of Wolf’s Crossing Road.
CalAtlantic Group, LLC – also known as Lennar – is proposing to develop 144 single-family homes and 87 townhomes at the site, along with three detention areas and a three-acre park.
The site is immediately south of the existing Hudson Pointe Phase I development that was approved in 2022.
Hudson Pointe Phase II is the continuation of Hudson Pointe Phase I, the single-family development at the southeast corner of Wolf’s Crossing and Harvey Road, Oswego Village Administrator Dan Di Santo said in response to questions from The Beacon-News.
The proposed single-family homes and townhomes in Hudson Pointe II are consistent with the village’s Comprehensive Plan and meet the parameters of the Wolf’s Crossing corridor approved by the Village Board, he said.
“The village continues to encourage diversity in housing, ensuring that Oswego is open and accessible to all,” Di Santo said.
The village’s Planning and Zoning Commission last month recommended approval of the rezoning of the site upon annexation.
The development would have two types of housing styles based on lot sizes of 71 feet by 131 feet and 63 feet by 131 feet. The proposed density is 2.85 units per acre in the planned single-family area of Hudson Pointe II, officials said.
Also at the site, the developer has proposed 87 townhome units in 19 buildings, with each building containing four or five units, village planners said.
The proposed residential development is adjacent to the future Wikaduke Trail, the planned north-south roadway connecting Interstate 88 with Interstate 80 through Will, Kane, DuPage and Kendall counties, village officials said.
The village expects the developer to dedicate right-of-way for the Wikaduke Trail, which will represent the first Wikaduke Trail right-of-way dedication in Oswego, village officials said.
