Oswego teen dies in car crash

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left an Oswego teenager dead on Friday night, officials said.

Sean Fader, 17, was killed when his vehicle crashed at around 8:50 p.m. on Minkler Road near the intersection with Reservation Road, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The crash took place in Oswego Township, law enforcement officials later said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Fader was driving southbound on Minkler Road when his car left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire, the release said.

Fader was the only one in the car, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said in the release.

On Monday, law enforcement officials said the investigation was still ongoing, and that no further information was available at the time.

The investigation is being coordinated with the Kendall County Coroner’s Office, according to the release. Officials said in the release the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Oswego Police Department and the Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District.
