Sex and health education have been taught in Illinois schools for decades, but a new law Gov. JB Prtizker signed last summer has caused concerns among some parents who feel it’s not appropriate for children. The law adopts the National Sex Education Standards, which include guidelines for what should be taught in districts that choose to teach comprehensive sex education.
