Park Ridge blotter: Armed habitual criminal, domestic abuse, burglary

The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Motor Vehicle Theft

An unknown offender stole an unlocked 2023 Honda HR-V while it was parked on the victim’s driveway in the 300-400 block of Edgemont Lane during the overnight hours of July 17. Police said the vehicle’s keys were inside the vehicle at the time of theft.

Burglary/Theft

Surveillance footage revealed a dark-colored SUV pull up behind the south bleachers of the Maine South High School football stadium, and  sporting equipment from an unlocked storage shed was stolen on July 4 at 1:17 a.m. at the school, 1111 South Dee Road.

Three offenders were caught on surveillance tape stealing cosmetics from the Walgreens at 800 Devon Avenue on July 12 at 11:15 p.m.

An unknown offender burglarized a garage in the 900 block of South Crescent Avenue during the overnight hours of July 12.

An unknown offender stole three FedEx packages that were left on a victim’s front porch between 11:58 a.m. and 1 p.m. on July 12 in the 1300-1400 block of Hoffman Avenue.

An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked Mercedes Benz in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue during the overnight hours of July 12.

An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked 2020 Subaru Forester while it was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue during the overnight hours of July 12.

A burglary victim was notified by an app that their garage door had opened and closed between 3:22 a.m. and 3:29 a.m. on July 13 in the 800-900 block of Courtland Avenue. The victim told police numerous items had been stolen.

An unknown offender stole personal items from a 2014 Buick during the early morning hours of July 16 in the 1900-2000 block of Courtland Avenue.

Surveillance footage showed an unknown offender stealing personal property from an unlocked 2013 Lexus RX on July 16 at 11:29 a.m. in the 300-400 block of South Knight Avenue.

An unknown offender reached into a locked Infiniti G35X with its windows down and stole personal property from it on July 15 around 5:15 p.m. in the 1300-1400 block of Glenlake Avenue.

An unknown offender stole a victim’s wallet while the victim was shopping at Jewel-Osco at 481 Busse Highway on July 18 sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.

Domestic Battery

A 46-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested on two counts of domestic battery at 200 S. Vine Ave. on July 15 at 6 a.m.

Battery

A 49-year-old Chicago man was arrested for battery in the 6100 block of North Ozark Avenue in Chicago by Park Ridge police on July 17 at 12 p.m.

A 21-year-old Chicago man was arrested for battery, retail theft and criminal damage to property at 1900 S. Cumberland Ave. on July 20 at 1:30 p.m.

Criminal Damage to Property

An unknown offender entered an unlocked 2016 Subaru and damaged the display screen of the dashboard during the overnight hours of July 15 at the intersection of Peterson Road and Cumberland Avenue.

A male subject was caught on a Ring camera searching a victim’s garbage can. The man damaged the victim’s gutter and garbage can on July 16 at 6:29 p.m. in the 1400-1500 block of Touhy Avenue.

An unknown offender smashed the driver’s side window of a 2013 Audi S4 and stole personal property from it during the overnight hours of July 16 in the 300-400 block of South Knight Avenue.

An unknown offender smashed the front driver’s side window of a 2022 Ford Transit during the overnight hours of July 17 in the 800-900 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Armed Habitual Criminal

A 58-year-old Grayslake man was arrested on one count of being an armed habitual criminal, a Class X felony, and issued a warrant at 200 S. Vine Ave. on July 17 at 11:35 a.m.

Felony Disorderly Conduct

An 18-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested for felony disorderly conduct at 2121 Euclid Avenue in Rolling Meadows by Park Ridge police on July 17 at 9:26 a.m.

Traffic Violations

A 41-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving without a license at Dee Road and Devon Avenue on July 18 at 2:21 a.m.

A 29-year-old Skokie woman was arrested for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit at 600 W. Touhy Ave. on July 21 at 9:40 p.m.

Tobacco Possession by a Minor

A 19-year-old Park Ridge man received a municipal code violation for possessing tobacco as a minor at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Elm Street on July 18 at 10:05 p.m.
