Park Ridge blotter: Burglary, battery, vehicle stolen

The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Motor Vehicle Theft

Three unknown offenders entered a victim’s 2020 Mercedes in the 100 block of South Chester Avenue on June 22 at 1:22 a.m. and drove away. The incident was taped on surveillance footage.

Criminal Damage to Property

An unknown offender damaged a “no trespassing” sign posted on a vacant lot in the 800-900 block of Busse Highway overnight on June 23.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

Two unknown offenders entered a vehicle and stole personal property before fleeing the scene during the overnight hours of June 21 in the 1400-1500 block of Hoffman Avenue. The incident was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera.

An unknown offender entered a victim’s 2016 Volkswagen Touareg, rummaged through the glove box and stole personal property from the vehicle during the overnight hours of June 21 in the 100 block of South Greenwood Avenue.

Theft under $500

A victim put her wallet down at a booth table at the Farmers Market on June 22 at 10:07 a.m. at the corner of Garden Street and South Prairie Street. When she went to retrieve it, it was gone.

USPS delivered a credit card to a residence in the 1200-1300 block of Good Avenue, but it was not received by the victim.

Criminal Defacement to Property

An unknown offender defaced the basketball court at Woodland Park with black ink and red spray paint at 1200 N. Western Ave. on June 26.

Criminal Damage to Property

An unknown offender threw some fireworks in the a victim’s recycling bin, causing damage to the bin on June 25 at approximately 11:20 p.m. in the 1000-1100 block of Harrison Street.

Disorderly Conduct

A bleach bottle with graffiti written on it was discovered on the steps of the United Methodist church property at 418 Grant Pl. sometime between June 20 and June 21.

Mischievous Conduct

Three unknown offenders exited a vehicle and “egged” another vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence and left raw meat and liquid paprika on the front door of the residence in the 2200-2300 block of Manor Lane on June 25 between 12:05 a.m. and 12:22 a.m.

Violating Order of Protection

A 63-year-old Chicago man was arrested on two counts of violating an order of protection in the 4900 block of North Bernard Street, Chicago, on June 25 at 10:55 a.m.

Battery

A 53-year-old Gurnee man was arrested for battery at 1775 Dempster Avenue on June 25 at 12:40 p.m.

A 64-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for battery at 200 South Vine Avenue on June 27 at 8:01 a.m.

Burglary

A 39-year-old Chicago man was arrested on five counts of burglary and three counts of resisting arrest in the 800 block of West Higgins Road on June 26 at 1:21 a.m.

Traffic Violations

A 24-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested for driving without a license and a seatbelt violation at the intersection of Dempster Street and Northwest Highway on June 26 at 2:23 p.m.

A 24-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested for driving without a license and a seatbelt violation in the 1400 block of South Prospect Avenue on June 27 at 11:59 p.m.

A 42-year-old Waukegan man was arrested for the violation of a bail-bond warrant, driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle and a seatbelt violation at the intersection of Busse Highway and Dee Road on June 28 at 8:02 a.m.

A 21-year-old Elgin woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license, having a suspended vehicle registration and improperly using the turn signal at the intersection of Dee Road and Devon Avenue on June 30 at 2:33 a.m.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor

A 14-year-old Chicago juvenile was cited with a municipal code violation for the consumption of alcohol by a minor in the first block of North Clifton Avenue on June 27 at 9:20 p.m.
