Fleeing and eluding
A 17-year-old Chicago boy was arrested for fleeing and eluding a police officer, speeding 15-20 mph over the limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disregarding a traffic control light, improper traffic lane usage in a vehicle with tinted windows and without a driver’s license near the intersection of Busse Highway and Dee Road on Aug. 14 at 7:19 p.m.
Theft of a motor vehicle
Surveillance footage showed a male suspect entering a locked Mercedes SL and driving off towards Newton Avenue in the 100 block of Higgins Road on Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m. The victim said the vehicle’s key fob was left inside.
Unknown offenders were caught on surveillance footage stealing an Audi on the 1400-1500 block of Grove Avenue on Aug. 14 at 3 a.m. The Audi was seen leaving the area southbound on Grove Avenue.
Theft of $500 and under
An unknown offender stole a Toro gas lawnmower from a residence’s rear alley/garage area in the 100-200 block of Columbia Avenue on Aug. 9 at 1 p.m.
An unknown male offender stole a Hyper 20″ Shocker Mountain bike from the front porch of a residence in the 1700-1800 block of Park Ridge Point on Aug. 15 at 8:34 a.m.
Traffic violations
A 24-year-old Chicago man was arrested on Aug. 12 at 1:01 a.m. for driving on a suspended driver’s license and speeding 15-20 mph over the speed limit near the intersection of Dee Road and Higgins Road.
A 37-year-old Chicago woman was arrested on Aug. 16 at 12:27 a.m. for driving on a suspended driver’s license and speeding 15-20 mph over the speed limit near Touhy Avenue and Summit Avenue.
A 28-year-old Chicago man was arrested for DUI alcohol, DUI blood alcohol content over .08% and illegally stopping a lane of traffic in the 800 block of North Dee Road on Aug. 18 at 3:16 a.m.
A 25-year-old Melrose Park man was arrested for driving without a driver’s license at Dee Road and Busse Highway on Aug. 18 at 4:26 p.m.
Possession of a Controlled Substance
A 41-year-old Chicago man was arrested for possessing a controlled substance in the 1100 block of West Touhy Avenue on Aug. 16 at 4:51 a.m.
Attempted theft of a catalytic converter
The driver of a Chevy attempted to steal the catalytic converter from a Ford Escape in the 1200-1300 block of Peterson Avenue on Aug. 11. The offender noticed a jogger was in the area, and fled the scene before stealing the catalytic converter, according to Park Ridge police.
