The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Motor Vehicle Theft
A red sedan pulled up next to a victim’s 2022 Dodge Durango, and an unknown offender exited the sedan, broke the rear passenger side window of the Durango, entered the vehicle, and drove off with it in the 1300 block of Higgins Road on June 28 at approximately 3:29 p.m. The vehicle was last seen at an address in Chicago.
Burglary to Motor Vehicle
An unknown offender entered a victim’s Cadillac Escalade and stole personal property from the center console while the vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of South Knight Avenue during the overnight hours of June 27.
An unknown offender entered an unlocked Chevy Suburban and stole numerous personal items from it during the overnight hours of June 29 in the 1200-1300 block of Clifton Avenue.
An unknown offender entered an unlocked Buick, stole numerous items, and rummaged through the vehicle during the overnight hours of June 28 and June 29 in the 1200-1300 block of Clifton Avenue.
Suspicious Person
A male offender was seen through doorbell footage attempting to enter a residence by pushing on the door and jiggling the handle. He was seen peering through the windows to the front of the residence before walking away on June 28 at 1:58 p.m. in the 1900 block of Courtland Avenue.
Criminal Damage to Property
An unknown offender lit off fireworks inside a portable toilet unit at Jaycee Park, which caused burn damage, during the overnight hours of June 28 at 1515 S. Washington Ave.
A Park Ridge Park District employee discovered additional damage to a water fountain at Jaycee Park on July 1. The damage was believed to be related to a prior incident that took place on June 28 at 1515 S. Washington Ave.
An unknown offender placed an unknown type of explosive device inside a victim’s mailbox and set it off, damaging the mailbox during the overnight hours of July 3 in the 2200-2300 block of Woodview Lane.
A 43-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for violating an order of protection and criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of Chester Avenue on July 6 at 8:51 p.m.
Criminal Defacement
An unknown offender placed stickers on posts at the Park Ridge Community Church that read “Are you a Communist” during the overnight hours of June 29 at 100 Courtland Ave.
Juvenile Offense
An unknown offender threw eggs and toilet paper on a victim’s Jeep Wrangler on June 30 at approximately 4:19 a.m. in the 2200-2300 block of Manor Lane. The incident was caught on surveillance video.
Attempt Vehicle Theft/ Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle
An unknown offender entered a victim’s 2013 Hyundai Elantra and heavily damaged the vehicle’s steering column and ignition in the 1400-1500 block of Granville Avenue. The vehicle’s glove box appeared to have been rummaged through. The victim was out of town from June 28 to June 30 while it happened.
Theft under $500
An unknown offender was seen on camera stealing numerous packages from a victim’s porch and fleeing in a white van on June 20 at 5 a.m. in the 400-500 block of Prospect Avenue.
The manger of the Walgreens at 901 W. Touhy Ave. said an unknown offender tampered with gift cards by scratching off the codes on the back on July 3 at 1:08 p.m.
Battery
A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested on two counts of battery at 200 S. Vine Ave. on July 3 at 8 a.m.
Domestic Battery
A 45-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for two counts of domestic battery in the 2400 block of West Sibley Street on July 3 at 1:51 p.m.
Traffic Violations
A 33-year-old Chicago woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and a seat belt usage violation near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Touhy Avenue on July 1 at 7:11 p.m.
A 33-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for driving on a cancelled driver’s license at the intersection of Higgins Road and Dee Road on July 2 at 8 p.m.
A 28-year-old Yorkville woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license and electronic communication device violations at the intersection of Higgins Road and Dee Road on July 3 at 1:04 p.m.
A 49-year-old Dallas, Texas man was arrested for driving without a license at the intersection of South Des Plaines River Road and Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines on July 5 at 10:48 a.m.
A 19-year-old Wheeling woman was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to yield the right of way at an intersection and failure to give information at 200 S. Vine Ave. on July 5 at 5 p.m.
A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving on a revoked license and a seatbelt violation at the intersection of Potter Road an Mayfield Drive on July 7 at 7:55 a.m.
Municipal Code Violations
A 48-year-old Park Ridge man was cited with a municipal code violation for the use of premise for consumption of alcohol by minors in the 1200 block of Good Avenue on July 5 at 11:52 p.m.
