A female pedestrian was listed in critical condition after she was struck crossing the street Friday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 7 a.m., the victim was in a crosswalk in the 1500 block of South Pulaski Road when she was struck by a 24-year-old man traveling north in a SUV.
The driver continued north on Pulaski Road and was not on the scene when police arrived.
The victim, whose exact age was not immediately available, was taken with multiple injuries to her body to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in critical condition.
