A person walking near the 1500 block of Cicero Avenue in Oak Forest was struck by a vehicle and killed early Thursday morning, police say.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the pedestrian was a 57-year-old man who died from blunt force injuries caused in the crash.
Oak Forest police responded at about 2 a.m., providing medical attention to the pedestrian and taking him to Advocate South Suburban Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m.
Police are not releasing the name of the pedestrian pending notification of the family. Oak Forest police as well as the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team continue to investigate the crash and ask anyone with information to email dlowisz@Oak-Forest.org.
