A person of interest was being questioned after a 35-year-old woman was critically wounded early Thursday morning in a shooting on the Northwest Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 5 a.m., a woman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in the 5800 block of West Newport Avenue and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting were under investigation and detectives were questioning a person of interest.
