A person was struck and killed by a train Tuesday on railroad tracks parallel to Big Timber Road in unincorporated Elgin, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said.
The incident involving a CPKC freight train occurred about 2:50 p.m. at Coombs Road in Rutland Township, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
No information on the victim’s identity or the circumstances of the fatality were released.
