Police: Front door smashed, items stolen from Batavia liquor store

The front door of a Batavia liquor store was smashed and a number of items stolen early Tuesday morning, Batavia police said.

At around 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to Batavia Liquor at 1804 Mill St. in response to an activated alarm, according to a news release from the Batavia Police Department.

When they arrived, an officer saw what appeared to be the suspect’s car leaving the parking lot, according to the release.

Police officers pursued the car but stopped due to excessive speeds, officials said. The car was last seen headed southbound near South Randall Road and Orchard Road, according to the release.

The investigation into the burglary is ongoing, officials said in the release.
