Police: Missing Hobart man’s body recovered in Lake George

Hobart authorities said Tuesday a fire department dive team recovered a body from Lake George Monday that police confirmed was a 25-year-old Hobart man whose family had requested a welfare check on Monday.

With the assistance of an Indiana Department of Natural Resources sonar equipment, the body was found about 10 p.m. Hobart’s water/dive team, its drone task force and search and rescue units were working with regional emergency crews to locate the man.

No foul play is suspected, said Assistant Chief Timothy Pochran.

The Lake County coroner’s office took possession of the body and will make a ruling on the cause of death, he said.
