A Beach Park man sexually assaulted the intellectually disabled daughter of his cleaning lady, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Alfredo De La Cruz, 70, of the 10200 block of West Fairbanks, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault of an intellectually disabled person, along with other felony counts, following an investigation, authorities said.
Police said the assault took place while the mother was cleaning at De La Cruz’s home. The woman would routinely bring her adult daughter, who is nonverbal, to her cleaning jobs.
The mother told police that she became suspicious of De La Cruz, so she placed a hidden camera in his living room last week, where the daughter usually sat, and recorded images of the man assaulting the daughter, police said.
The woman had been cleaning at the house for the past two years, police said. Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at the house and arrested De La Cruz.
