Randolph stays ahead of Prado in race for Indiana Senate District 2

Election results at press time saw incumbent Lonnie Randolph leading by a healthy margin against Humberto Prado, 66% to 34%, according to unofficial tallies.

Randolph didn’t respond to a request for comment, but Prado said if the numbers — he was trailing Randolph by more than 12,000 votes — don’t change substantially, he planned on taking “time to reflect.”

“Right now, we’re still waiting for all the votes to be counted, so I’m staying hopeful. But if the numbers don’t change much, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished in this race,” Prado said Tuesday night. “The support we’ve seen has been amazing.

“As for what’s next, I’m definitely open to future opportunities to serve. This experience has only strengthened my commitment to our community, whether through public office or other ways.”
