A passenger carjacked a rideshare driver early Sunday morning in the New City neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.
The victim, a 47-year-old man, was providing a rideshare service to a male passenger. When they arrived at their destination in the 4500 block of South Hermitage Avenue, the male passenger took out a gun and demanded the rideshare driver exit the vehicle. The rideshare driver complied, and the passenger drove away in the vehicle.
There were no injuries reported and no one is in custody, police said. Area One Detectives are investigating.
