Romeoville man on foot hit, killed on Interstate 80 in Tinley Park after leaving music venue

Police said a 50-year-old Romeoville man walking on Interstate 80 in Tinley Park was struck and killed Sunday by a semi truck.

Tinley Park police said the man, Timothy Fogt, was last seen leaving the nearby Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre about 11 p.m. Saturday. They had sought the public’s help in finding Fogt after he went missing.

Illinois State police said they responded to a report of the accident in the eastbound lanes of I-80 east of Harlem Avenue.

They said Fogt was struck by a Volvo semi truck in the center lane. Police said it was not classified as a hit-and-run.

The cause and manner of Fogt’s death was pending Monday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The amphitheater is on the south side of I-80, between Harlem and Oak Park avenues.
