A motorcyclist was in critical condition after he was struck Thursday night by an SUV, according to Gurnee police.
The cyclist, a 57-year-old Round Lake man, was hit on Grand Avenue near Dilley’s Road at about 7:20 p.m., police said.
Police said the SUV was headed east on Grand Avenue and was turning left into a parking lot just past Dilley’s Road when it struck the cyclist, who was westbound on Grand, police said.
The cyclist was ejected from his Kawasaki motorcycle and suffered critical injuries. He was brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Friday, police said.
The other motorist, a 51-year-old Gurnee woman, was not injured. Westbound Grand Avenue remained closed for several hours following the collision. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
