Police are investigating a three-car crash near Lake Barrington in which a Schaumburg woman died.
The collision happened Tuesday at about 4:15 p.m. on Illinois Route 59, north of Miller Road.
Police said the woman, 53, was headed north on Route 59 when she veered into the southbound lanes. Her Hyundai sedan struck the rear of a semi-trailer and then struck a southbound Lincoln SUV.
The woman was brought to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The semi driver, a 62-year-old Hawthorn Woods man, and the SUV driver, a Cary man, 46, both suffered minor injuries, police said.
Authorities have not yet released the woman’s identity.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Major Crash Assistance Team.
