Second armed robbery suspect charged after Glenview couple threatened, police say

A second of three suspects has been arrested and charged with armed robbery in the case of a Glenview couple who were returning home on the evening of April 21 when three men with guns approached them and demanded their belongings.

The Chicago Police Department and the United States Marshal Service took Amarion Ray-Williams, a 21-year-old male from the 15100 block of Beachview Terrace, Dolton, into custody Monday due to a Glenview arrest warrant, according to a Glenview Police news release.

Ray-Williams was brought to the Glenview Police Department and charged with armed robbery with a firearm, per police, then transferred to the custody of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department for a conditions hearing that was due to be held on June 17 at 1:30 p.m.

On June 6, police said they charged another of the three suspects in the case, Angelo B. Hatter, with armed robbery with a firearm, a Class X felony, with approval from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, per Glenview Police Sgt. Carly Gaba.

Hatter was detained in custody, and his next court date will be held July 2 at Skokie Courthouse, Gaba said.

On the night of the robbery, police said the man and woman were returning to their home on Bluestem Lane in Glenview at about 10 p.m. when the suspects with handguns approached  and demanded their belongings.

Gaba said the victims had their jewelry and wallets taken during the robbery. They were not physically injured, per the news release.

The offenders then fled in a Jaguar SUV, which police later found, unoccupied, in the 4300 block of South Federal Street in Chicago, according to police. The offenders were described by the victims as males, wearing black face coverings and dark clothing.

Gaba said Glenview Police Detectives continue to investigate this incident with the assistance of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
