Ald. Jeanette Taylor, 20th, joined the city’s waitlists for affordable housing in 1993. Last week, she received a letter from the Chicago Housing Authority saying she’d reached the top of the waitlist. Now, Taylor is working to pass an ordinance to address the long waits required to get into affordable housing.
