Snowfall was reported at both of Chicago airports Thursday with temperatures hovering in the low 30s in the morning, officials said.
Current conditions at O’Hare Airport are light snow with fog and mist at 31 degrees and farther south at Midway Airport, conditions are similar at 33 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday’s snow was expected to continue until about 9 a.m. then skies are expected to clear with highs in the low 40s, officials said.
Wednesday, the area experienced a plethora of weather conditions, including rain, which transitioned to snow. At one point, a tornado watch was called.
On Thursday, less than a half an inch of snow accumulation was expected in Chicago with breezy conditions that could create wind gusts up to 40 mph. The windy conditions are expected to diminish throughout the morning hours.
