Due to a $9.9 million building upgrade at the Kendall County Office Building in Yorkville, several of the county’s administrative offices at the Fox Street facility will move and temporarily operate in the Kendall County Courthouse in the city pending completion of the renovation project, county officials said.
Several Kendall County offices will be impacted, with the offices of the treasurer, assessor, the Planning, Building and Zoning Department, Kendall County’s administration and the Human Resources Department being temporarily relocated from 111 W. Fox St. to the Kendall County Courthouse at 807 John St. in Yorkville, Kendall County Administrator Christina Burns said.
People who need to reach the offices this week are encouraged to call ahead to confirm availability or check the county’s website at www.kendallcountyil.gov.
The relocation process is being done in phases, Burns said.
The Kendall County Treasurer’s Office and Planning, Building and Zoning offices are set to reopen Wednesday at the Kendall County Courthouse. The Kendall County Assessor’s Office, Administration and Human Resources will close Wednesday and reopen Friday at the courthouse.
The Kendall County clerk, recorder and elections offices are not impacted and will remain open and operating as usual at the facility at 502 S. Main St. in Yorkville, Burns said
“Construction will begin in early February at the County Office Building to update the building to better serve the public and improve operational security. The renovations will be completed in the winter of 2026, at a cost of $9.9 million,” she said.
