Some roads near Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora will be closed Friday to help with traffic flow, police say

The Aurora Police Department is set to close some roads near the Chicago Premium Outlets mall on Friday to help with the flow of traffic into and out of the area due to the large number of shoppers expected for Black Friday, officials announced on Wednesday.

From 4 a.m. until around 7 p.m. Friday, Corporate Boulevard will be closed between Farnsworth Avenue and Church Road, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department. Businesses on Corporate Boulevard can still be accessed by employees, visitors and deliveries from Church Road, officials said in the release.

Bilter Road will also be closed between Church Road and Farnsworth Avenue from 4 a.m. to around 7 p.m. Friday, police said.

The Aurora Police Department may also temporarily close southbound traffic on Farnsworth Avenue between Butterfield Road and Bilter Road or eastbound traffic on Bilter Road from Farnsworth Avenue, according to the release.

The Aurora Police Department is expecting “significant” traffic delays in the area during Black Friday weekend, officials said. They urged the public to seek alternate routes that avoid the area unless traveling to the Chicago Premium Outlets mall.

During Black Friday weekend, the Chicago Premium Outlets mall will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to the release.

The Chicago Premium Outlets mall will be closed on Thanksgiving, officials said.

Real-time road closure updates will be posted to the Aurora Police Department’s Facebook page, the release stated.
