AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Jeffery Crocker, 55, 1300 block of Fox Hound Trail, Beecher, is scheduled to appear in Will County court April 8, charged with aggravated assault, according to court records online. Crocker, arrested March 10, pointed a handgun at an acquaintance in that block March 8, according to police and court records.
Evergreen Park
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: James P. Kowalik, 40, 9900 block of Sawyer Avenue, Evergreen Park, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault March 16 in that block after threatening a neighbor while holding a club, police said.
Homewood
GUN POSSESSION: Joshua Caldwell, 26, 18300 block of Gottschalk Avenue, Homewood, was arrested March 3 and accused of unlawfully possessing a firearm with narcotics and unlawfully possessing 30-100 grams of cannabis at Dixie Highway and Ridge Road, police said.
Lockport
DEALING CHARGED: Denzel S. Hawthorne, 28, 500 block of Rosanne Lane, Lockport, is scheduled to appear in Will County court April 4, charged with possession of more than 900 grams of suspected cocaine with intent to sell, possession of more than 900 grams of suspected methamphetamines with intent to sell and possession of a firearm with a revoked gun permit, according to court information online. Sheriff’s units and federal agents recovered numerous varieties of narcotics, currency, guns and a vehicle March 19 during searches of Hawthorne’s home and a residence in the 16000 block of Basil Court, sheriff’s police said.
New Lenox
FRAUD: Wilber A. Gonzalez-Hidalgo, 22, Glendale Heights, was arrested March 20 and accused of theft by deception/burglary after depositing eight checks totaling $7,980 into an account at Numark Credit Union, 951 E. Lincoln Highway, March 15 and then withdrawing that amount before employees determined the checks failed to cover the withdrawal.
Oak Lawn
ARMED ROBBERY: A masked male robbed a guest at gunpoint at Miami Inn & Suites, 9041 95th St., at 10:30 a.m. March 16 by forcing the door open to her room, but had to exit through the room’s window after she stepped into the hallway and held the door closed, police said. The male fired two shots through the room’s window, hitting another guest’s car, but no one was injured, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Chicago woman driving with 3 ounces of marijuana March 15 in the 6400 block of 95th Street bit the thigh of the officer who pulled her over for suspended registration plates, police said. Kennika D. Anderson, 35, was subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and possessing 10-100 grams of cannabis, police said.
Orland Park
DUI CRASH: Lazerick V. Burnett, 26, 11800 Brook Hill Drive, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, driving without proof of insurance and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision during a Feb. 22 crash investigation at 179th Street and Southwest Highway, police said.
BATTERY: Monte L. Potts, 34, Chicago, was additionally accused of battery and resisting arrest Feb. 26 at Orland Square mall after hitting an officer’s hand and struggling with officers while being taken into custody for disorderly conduct, police said.
Palos Heights
IDENTITY THEFT: The head of housekeeping at the Avantara physical rehabilitation facility in Hazel Crest was arrested March 14 and accused of aggravated identity theft in connection with almost $7,500 in unapproved charges to a patient’s checking account, police said. Investigators linked Demonte Williams, 33, 17800 block of Central Park Avenue, Country Club Hills, to the transactions and the taking of a bank card from the patient, police said.
Palos Hills
DUI CRASH: James J. Sexton, 27, Tinley Park, was arrested March 2 and accused of drunken driving during a March 2 crash investigation in the 11400 block of Roberts Road, police said.
THEFT: More than $1,000 was reported taken March 3 from a laundry cash/change machine pried off the wall in the 8500 block of 100th Terrace, police said.
Palos Park
ROAD RAGE: Alfred Amos, 27, Riverdale, was arrested March 11 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery after allegedly hitting a 64-year-old motorist in the face with a tire iron after the two were involved in a fender bender near 87th Street and La Grange Road, Cook County sheriff’s police said.
Park Forest
NO TOW: An Olympia Fields woman accused of unhooking her car from a tow truck at the Ludeman Developmental Center and leaving with the truck key was arrested March 5 at Western Avenue and 26th Street, police said. Brianna J. Morris, 29, 3400 block of Ionia Avenue, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham, April 28, charged with trespassing to a vehicle and theft, police said.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Devion M. Ash-Benford, 25, 3600 block of Western Avenue, Park Forest, was arrested March 11 and accused of pointing a gun at another person near Western Avenue and Indianwood Boulevard, police said. Ash-Benford, who was unarmed and denied pointing a gun at anyone, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham, April 28, charged with aggravated assault, police said.
Thornton
RECKLESS SHOOTING: Aisha Rice, 34, first block of Willow Lane, Glenwood, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham on April 2, charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and criminally damaging property in connection with firing two rounds from a 9 mm pistol into an occupied car, according to police and a court spokesperson. The March 3 shooting in the 300 block of Blackstone Street stemmed from a domestic argument outside a lounge in the 600 block of Chicago Road, police said. Rice has surrendered her weapons and gun permit to authorities, court records show.
Tinley Park
SHOPLIFTING CHARGED: David C. Lopez, 35, 14700 block of LaSalle Street, Dolton, was arrested March 19 on a warrant charging him with retail theft in connection with the Dec. 6 theft of merchandise collectively valued at $1,650 from Target, 7300 191st St., police said.
