ARMED ROBBERY: Two people robbed at gunpoint April 8 outside a gas station in the 4300 block of 127th Street were targeted by their assailant, who watched them prior to the holdup, police said. Items taken from the couple include a wallet, purse, cell phones, smart watches and jewelry, police said.
Beecher
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Nicholas V. Hedger, 34, 29900 block of Blue Heron Boulevard, Beecher, was arrested May 6 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, residential trespassing, resisting arrest and criminally damaging property, according to police and Will County records online. Hedger injured a responding officer while resisting arrest after forcibly entering a home without permission, police said.
Burbank
SPITTING CHARGE: Makahla D. James, 24, Chicago, was charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest April 28 after spitting in an officer’s mouth and eye at a motel in the 5000 block of 79th Street and later spitting in the mouth of a security officer at Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said. James was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol equipped with a laser sight and loaded magazine, police said.
ROAD RAGE: A motorist told police at about 12:30 a.m. April 28 that another driver lowered the driver’s side window and brandished a handgun at 79th Street and Austin Avenue after repeatedly brake-checking him in both lanes.
Evergreen Park
GUN POSSESSION: Anthony Moreno, 20, 4600 block of 107th Street, Oak Lawn, was arrested April 26 in the 9300 block of Richmond Avenue and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a 9 mm handgun and magazine and determined he lacked a gun permit, police said.

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY: Porcha J. Carter, 38, 100 block of Blackhawk Drive, Park Forest, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham June 26, charged with aggravated robbery, according to a court spokesperson. Carter was arrested April 16 on a warrant stemming from three individuals’ gun-implied holdup of a gas station in the 15800 block of Wood Street April 5, police said.
Lansing
ARMED ROBBERY: An Indiana man involved in a May 15 five-vehicle crash at 175th and Bernadine streets told officers he was robbed at gunpoint minutes before at a nearby park, police said. Officers seized a large bag of marijuana, several containers of pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, multiple packages of cannabis containers and a bag of suspected psilocybin mushrooms from the man’s vehicle and turned the case over to investigations, police said.

GUN POSSESSION: Daniel I. Goodman, 22, 20300 block of Grand Traverse Drive, Frankfort, was arrested May 15 and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest at 191st Street and La Grange Road after officers recovered a sling bag containing a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun equipped with a switch to make it fire automatically and an extended magazine, police said.
Oak Lawn
ROAD RAGE: Omar H. Hussein, 27, 10300 block of Mason Avenue, Oak Lawn, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and accused of aggravated assault April 20 after officers recovered an unloaded 9 mm pistol with a mounted light and a loaded magazine at Cicero Avenue and Southwest Highway while investigating two motorists’ allegations that another driver brandished a gun, police said.
Orland Park
SCHOOL TRESPASSING: Eric C. Havens, 57, 18500 block of Lexington Avenue, Homewood, was arrested April 24 on a warrant charging him with criminal trespass after returning to Carl Sandburg High School, police said. Havens, the father of a cheerleader, was convicted of disorderly conduct in 2024 and banned from school property after taking photographs of cheerleaders other adults thought were inappropriate, police said.
ASSAULT ALLEGED: Mohammed M. Yassin, 29, 15400 block of Hollywood Drive, Orland Park, was arrested April 25 at Cachey Park and accused of assault and disorderly conduct based on a child’s statement that Yassin had taken his bicycle and on allegations Yassin had spoken to, and threatened two pairs of children, police said.
Palos Heights
GUN POSSESSION: Abdulhadi K. Abu Khadeeja, 22, 8200 block of 79th Street, Justice, was arrested May 11 in the 11900 block of Harlem Avenue and accused of unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered an unsecured loaded handgun and a loaded BB gun/handgun replica and determined the weapons weren’t being legally transported, police said.
Park Forest
GUN POSSESSION: Jaylan G. Usher, was arrested April 22 at Blackhawk Drive and Suwanee Street and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after an officer recovered a loaded, uncased 9 mm pistol in his book bag, police said. Usher told officers he retrieved the gun from Interstate 57 after seeing it tossed from a car during a high-speed chase, police said.
MARIJUANA BUST: Charles W. Jenkins, 35, 200 block of Sauk Trail, was arrested April 25 and accused of unlawfully possessing more than 500 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver after officers recovered nearly three pounds of marijuana at 26th and Allegheny streets, police said.
RECKLESS SHOOTING: Lester R. Williams, 39, Chicago, was scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham May 21, charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and domestic battery, according to a court spokesperson. An officer reported hearing seven gunshots in that area on May 5 at the time Williams allegedly shot at a woman in the first block of South Orchard Avenue, and investigators recovered five spent .45 shell casings, police said.
Steger
STRANGULATION: Marshawn K. Baisten, 25, 300 block of Seneca Street, Park Forest, was arrested May 8 on a warrant charging him with aggravated domestic battery and child endangerment Jan. 31 in the 400 block of West Steger Road, police said.
