FLEEING ATTEMPT: Shortly before 2 p.m. May 28, a 28-year-old man broke free from Chicago Heights police detectives on the second floor of the Bridgeview Courthouse, was apprehended and restrained by responding Cook County Sheriff’s deputies, but broke free and jumped over the railing to the first floor, sheriff’s police said. The individual was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries to his legs, police said.
Burbank
STRANGULATION: U.S. marshals arrested Edgard I. Garcia-Delgado, 30, 7600 block of Laramie Avenue, Burbank, May 13 in Chicago on a warrant charging him with aggravated domestic battery/strangulation stemming from Jan. 9 in the 7600 block of Laramie Avenue, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Aggie Kulig, 36, 8100 block of New England Avenue, Burbank, was charged with aggravated battery May 13 in connection with a physical dispute between two students at Liberty Junior High School, police said.
ARMED ROBBERY: Tyrell L. Newton, 30, 1400 block of Edgewood Avenue, Chicago Heights, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court July 31, charged with armed robbery with a firearm, armed habitual criminal, possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon/previous conviction, according to police and sheriff’s records online. The charges stem from the Dec. 11 hold-up of a store in the 8100 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
Crete
UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT: Todd M. Lenoir, 48, was arrested May 29 in the 3500 block of Arthur Road and charged with unlawful restraint, domestic battery and interfering in a domestic-violence report, according to police and Will County court records online.
SEXUAL ASSAULT: Trevon L. Gunn, 32, Crete, is scheduled to appear in court June 20, charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a teen in 2025 in Crete, and one count each of sexually assaulting a child in 2022 and 2023 in Crete, according to Will County court records online. The U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, which includes members of the Will County Sheriff’s Office, took Gunn into custody June 3 in the 3000 block of Sherwood Avenue in Markham on a warrant, according to the sheriff’s department.
Evergreen Park
GUN POSSESSION: Amir D. Wilder, 18, Chicago, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon April 27 after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol with a loaded extended magazine in the 9500 block of Western Avenue, police said.
Lansing
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Shaina A. Wade, 38, 16900 block of Lincoln Street, Hazel Crest, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer May 6 after punching an officer investigating a complaint of an unwanted person in the 3500 block of Ridge Road and later grabbing him at the police station, police said.
Lockport
GUN POSSESSION: Brenton D. York, 35, Plainfield, was arrested June 4 after an officer recovered an uncased and immediately accessible .45 caliber handgun during a stop at State Street and New Avenue, police said. York was subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to Will County court records online.
Oak Lawn
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Tiffany V. Barnes, 41, 15100 block of Diekman Court, Dolton, was arrested May 6 at 103rd Street and Cicero Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, drunken driving, speeding, driving with suspended registration, illegally transporting alcohol and unlawfully possessing cannabis in a motor vehicle, police said. Barnes was subdued with pepper spray after kicking an officer in the stomach while resisting, police said.
Orland Park
CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE: Lamont Simms Jr., 38, 14600 block of Kentucky Avenue, Harvey, was charged with continuing a financial crimes enterprise, possessing stolen property and trespassing May 22 after officers recovered unpurchased merchandise collectively selling for $1,348 from Ross Dress for Less, JC Penney and Kohl’s at Orland Park Place, police said.
DUI CRASH: Osama F. Al Rahman, 22, 13900 block of 91st Avenue, Orland Park, was charged May 23 with driving under the influence of drugs, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and improper lane use after driving onto grass and sidewalks and into trees near the intersection of Timber Trail Road and Pebble Beach Lane, police said.
Palos Hills
DUI CRASH: Nicholas L. Anderson, 30, La Grange Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving during a May 31 crash investigation in the 10200 block of 84th Terrace, police said.
Park Forest
RECKLESS CONDUCT: Shequita R. Emery, 25, 300 block of Linda Lane, Lynwood, was arrested May 18 and accused of reckless conduct after officers saw her kicking a downed woman in the face outside a bar in the 22300 block of Central Park Avenue, police said.
GUN POSSESSION: Briauna M. Raickett, 31, 6700 block of 181st Street, Tinley Park, was arrested May 18 at Western Avenue and Sauk Trail and accused of carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol and determining she was intoxicated, police said. Raickett was also accused of speeding, driving without proof of insurance, illegally transporting alcohol and improper lane use, police said.
RIDE-SHARE BATTERY: Keith R. Sawyer Jr., 24, 16900 block of Ingleside Court, South Holland, was arrested May 19 in the 200 block of Marquette Street and accused of battery after punching a ride-share driver in the face after he was ordered out of the vehicle, police said.
Peotone
BURGLARY: Peotone police said people in masks and wearing hooded sweatshirts and gloves entered five businesses on Cicero Avenue and two business in the historic downtown at about 5 a.m. June 9. At least two separate crews used landscaping rocks to smash windows and enter the businesses, police said.
University Park
ATTEMPTED ESCAPE: Cameron G. Jackson, 27, 600 block of Kevin Lane, was scheduled to appear in Will County court June 11, charged with being a felon escaping from a police officer and theft, according to court records online. Cameron took another person’s cellphone during a March 24 argument outside a store in the 500 block of University Parkway and later, with family members’ encouragement, grappled with officers placing him under arrest, police said.
Will County
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Malachi L. Napier, 32, 1200 block of Portland Avenue, Chicago Heights, was arrested June 3 on a warrant charging him with aggravated battery in a public place and felony domestic battery, according to Will County court records online. The multi-count charge against Napier, also known as Naper, stems from an April 9 interaction at a gas station in the 24500 block of Western Avenue near University Park, Will County sheriff’s police said.
