Speeding hit-and-run vehicle strikes boy, 13, injures 4 others in Rogers Park

A 13-year-old boy riding his bicycle in the Rogers Park neighborhood was struck by a hit and run driver whom also injured two juveniles and two adults in a car,  Chicago police said.

Shortly after 6;30 p.m. Wednesday, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck a 13-year-old boy riding a bicycle in the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace, police said.

The vehicle first struck a blue Nissan with two adults and two children, ages 10 and 7, inside the vehicle, police said.

All of the injured victims were taken in critical condition to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford and police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
