Illinois lawmakers are considering banning declawing cats, seen as inhumane by many animal rights advocates. While several cities have passed bans, some interests express concerns that an outright prohibition on the procedure, could limit veterinarians from helping cats with certain conditions and could even lead to more cats being abandoned or euthanized.
