Warren moves up after a first-round playoff win led by Aaron Stewart and Zion Vines-Peterson.

Starters play just two or three series in the Scouts’ Class 6A first-round playoff win against Mather. A rematch against conference rival Libertyville is next.

2. Libertyville 9-1 (2)

Quinn Schambow increases his season total to 50 touchdown passes in the Wildcats’ Class 6A win against Deerfield.

3. Stevenson 9-1 (3)

Anthony Adams III gets two of the Patriots’ five sacks and Abai Atabekov makes a key interception in their Class 8A win against Sandburg. Glenbard East awaits.

4. Wauconda 8-2 (4)

Seven plays score as the Bulldogs pile up 552 yards in their Class 6A win against Fenton and advance to play Belvidere North.

5. Antioch 8-2 (6)

Martin Cohen rushes for 279 yards and four TDs and throws a TD pass in the Sequoits’ Class 6A win against Grayslake North, setting up a showdown at top-seeded Cary-Grove.

6. Warren 6-4 (9) 

Aaron Stewart runs for 212 yards and three TDs on 33 carries in the Blue Devils’ Class 8A win against Palatine. Barrington is next.

7. Grant 6-4 (5)

The high-scoring Bulldogs run into a buzz saw in their loss against Burlington Central in Class 6A, scoring less than 23 points for just the second time.

8. Grayslake North 7-3 (7)

Landon Dovel finishes the season with 1,278 rushing yards after running for 188 yards and three TDs on 34 carries against Antioch.

9. Deerfield 5-5 (8)

Quinn Schimanski, a three-time all-conference pick, tops the Warriors with 815 rushing yards and 11 total TDs and also records 58 tackles.

10. Mundelein 4-5 (NR)

Leading tacklers Jake Junia, Ian Murray, Maddux Hermestroff and Antonio Vaughn lead a defensive charge that yields just 14 points in the Mustangs’ final 10 quarters.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Junior wide receiver Blaise LaVista makes eight catches for 198 yards and a career-high five touchdowns during Libertyville’s 43-17 win against Deerfield in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Senior defensive back Zion Vines-Peterson makes eight tackles and two interceptions during Warren’s 31-24 win against Palatine in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs.
