Teenage boy, 17, in critical condition after shooting Wednesday morning on Far South Side

A 17-year-old boy was in critical condition after being wounded Wednesday morning in a shooting on the Far South Side in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the teenage boy suffered a gunshot wound to the head in the 9900 block of South Bishop Street and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
