Two teenagers were shot, one fatally, on Sunday night in Chatham, according to Chicago police.
The two males, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, were in a verbal altercation near the 700 block of East 89th Place at about 11:51 p.m. when an unknown individual shot at both victims, police say.
The 18-year-old was shot twice in the chest and was taken to U. of C. Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead soon after, according to police. The 16-year-old was shot in the left and right thighs and was taken to U. of C. Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
The shooting marks at least 10 people under the age of 18 shot since Thursday.
