The start of Wednesday’s Chicago White Sox game against the Detroit Tigers at Rate Field will be delayed because of rain, the Sox announced on social media.
“We will provide more information as we receive it,” the Sox wrote.
The team expected rain “to remain in the area for at least another 45-60 minutes,” at around 6:40 p.m.
Jared Shuster is slated to start for the Sox as part of a bullpen game.
“Shuster’s starting and then Mike Vasil will be in a bulk role at some point,” manager Will Venable said. “We’ll have to figure out what that looks like in the transition from Shuster to the next guy or how we’re going to piece it all together.
“For now, we know Shuster is taking the ball to get us going.”
