The Way We Were: A peek back at the old YMCA in downtown Naperville as it looked in the early 20th century

Here’s a glimpse of the YMCA gymnasium as it looked in the early 20th century when the facility was located in downtown Naperville. The photographer was Charles Koretke, according to the credit on the front of the photo, which is part of the Naperville Heritage Society collection. The Y was a fixture on Washington Street until just a few years ago, when efforts to save it as a historic building and it was razed to make way for new development.
