This black-and-white photograph is of students in a classroom at Naperville High School in the late 1920s, only about a decade after the school was established in 1916. It was taken when the high school was located on Washington Street, between Douglas and Spring avenues. That’s currently the location of Washington Junior High School. Clearly bobbed hair was in fashion for the female students but were ties required attire for the male students on a daily basis or only when photos were scheduled?
