Here are some events happening from July 5 to 11 in the Chicago suburbs and Northwest Indiana.
New exhibit
A new exhibit called “Grid Luck” is on display from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday through Oct. 6 at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Tickets are free. At 425 Fawell Blvd. 630-942-2321; theccma.org.
Chicago-based artist Alberto Aguilar explores a grid’s role in art. Drawing inspiration from the COD’s permanent art collection, the exhibit reimagines the materials and spaces within the museum, leading to the creation of new site-specific works. The installations will be accompanied by original photographs, drawings and paintings that use both a formal and conceptual grid in their creation.
Summer fun on the farm
Bengtson’s SummerFest is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays-Sundays through Aug. 4 at Bengtson’s Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen. Tickets are $23.74 online or $25 at the gate. At 13341 W. 151st St. 708-301-3276; pumpkinfarm.com.
This autumn destination is opening its doors a season earlier. Kids can experience all their favorite rides, like Barnstormer, Flying Frogs and the Happy Swing; then visit the petting zoo, pig races and even the haunted barn.
It’s only rock ‘n’ roll
Satisfaction/The International Rolling Stones Tribute performs at 8 p.m. July 5 at the Hobart Art Theater in Hobart. Tickets are $20-$25. At 230 Main St. 219-942-1670; brickartlive.com.

Rock ‘n’ roll giants

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Daryl Hall, along with music legend Elvis Costello and The Imposters with guitarist Charlie Sexton, will perform an evening of hits from their long careers.
Author event
