Local author book signing

Ivy Green will sign copies of her latest book at 6 p.m. March 22 at Anderson’s Bookshop in Downers Grove. Tickets are $17. At 5112 Main St. 630-963-2665; andersonsbookshop.com.

Lemont native Ivy Green will read from her latest book, “Tori’s Treasures,” answer questions from the audience and sign copies. “Tori’s Treasures” is about a 12-year-old girl who lives in an old house with one bathroom and shares a room with her six-year-old twin sisters. Her best friend moves away and her favorite nature area might be torn down.

Funny girl

Comedian Nikki Glaser performs at 7 p.m. March 22 at the Hard Rock Live Northern Indiana in Gary. Tickets are $39.50-$60. At 5400 W. 29th Ave. 219-228-2383; hardrockcasinonorthernindiana.com.

Nikki Glaser brings her “The Good Girl” tour the Hard Rock Live. Glaser hosts an eponymous podcast and in July 2022, headlined her first HBO comedy special, “Good Clean Filth,” which was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special. Glaser is also the host and executive producer of the HBO Max reality dating series “F-boy Island.”

Fan-favorite Beatles

“Yesterday and Today: An Interactive Beatles Experience” is at 7:30 p.m. March 22 at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills. Tickets are $28-$35. At 9000 W. College Parkway. 708-974-4300; morainevalley.edu/fpac/tickets.

The band, anchored by brothers Billy, Matthew and Ryan McGuiganc of Omaha, Nebraska, perform as themselves in this tribute show. The twist? Upon arrival, audience members write their Beatles song requests on a card and why it’s important to them and minutes before the show begins, the brothers choose the songs and create the setlist. The reasons are also mentioned.

Easter activities

Easter activities are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. Tickets are free; parking is $5. At 1S151 Winfield Road. 630-668-5161; cantigny.org.

Kids can bring a basket or bag and participate in an Easter egg hunt. Eggs will be replenished throughout the day; participants can redeem five eggs for a prize (one per child). Concessions will be available, including hot sandwiches and a bloody Mary and mimosa bar for adults. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny will be on hand to pose for photos in the Visitors Center backyard. Kids can decorate a ceramic “puppy bank” for $5. The movie “Hop” will be shown throughout the day.

Drumming, dancing, stomping

Malevo performs at 7 p.m. March 24 at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. Tickets are $15-$38. At 19351 W. Washington St.; 847-543-2300; jlcenter.clcillinois.edu.

Malevo are the Cultural Ambassadors of Argentina and “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” contestants. The all-male dance troupe performs Malambo — a traditional dance of strength and explosive bravado, with passionate drumming and fiery theatrics.
