Three men are dead after a shooting Friday afternoon in Griffith, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Lake County Sheriff’s police, along with with a SWAT unit, Griffith Police and other emergency personnel, blockaded the 600 block of Colfax Street to secure the location, Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said in a text Friday.
In a news release, two of the men were found dead at the scene, and the third man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, he said, adding that there’s no further threat to the surrounding area and community.
There is no further information available at this time, he said.
