Toddler drowns in Bannockburn indoor pool

A toddler drowned Monday in an indoor swimming pool at a Bannockburn home, according to Lake County authorities.

He was identified by the coroner’s office as Noah Probst, who was one year and 10 months old and a resident of Peotone.

Bannockburn police and firefighters were called to the house in the 1900 block of Half Day at around 2 p.m. Monday for a report of a drowning in an indoor pool. Emergency crews arrived and took over resuscitation efforts on the child, who was unconscious and not breathing, the coroner’s office said.

Probst was brought to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The autopsy showed death consistent with drowning, the coroner said. Investigation into the incident is continuing, though police said they do not suspect foul play.
