Sean Hammond has joined the Tribune as a Chicago Bears/GA reporter for the sports department.
Hammond has covered the Bears since 2020, previously working for Shaw Media newspapers and the Daily Herald. He has written about sports in the Chicago area since 2016, including the Bears, Cubs, White Sox and various high school sports. Prior to joining Shaw Media in 2016, Hammond spent a year covering high school sports at The Herald-Palladium in St. Joseph, Michigan. He has won numerous sports writing awards from the AP Sports Editors, including a top 10 finish in beat writing for his coverage of the Bears during the 2021 season.
Hammond grew up in the Chicago suburbs and studied journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
