Triton College is playing host this week to a National Junior College Athletic Association tournament, featuring three days of women’s and men’s championship basketball.
From Wednesday to Saturday, the NJCAA Region 4 Division I men’s and women’s tournaments will be played in the George T. Jorndt Athletic Complex Gymnasium at the community college in River Grove, according to a Triton College news release announcing the event.
The women’s semifinals are set for Wednesday. The men’s semifinals are scheduled for Thursday. Then the championship games for each will hit the court Saturday.
Additionally, all the games will be streamed live at no charge.
The Triton men’s basketball team is 23-3 and ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA poll, the release explains. The Trojans look to win their fourth regional title in the last five seasons.
Likewise, the lady Trojans are having a 23-4 season and aiming for their first regional title since 2021, according to the release.
General admission is $5 and children under age 12 enter for free.
