In 2003, a Lake County jury convicted Ronald Ruhl of killing a Lake Villa man at the request of a friend who wanted a romantic relationship with the victim’s girlfriend. Now, Ruhl is seeking a new trial, and the key to him potentially getting it is a confession from the man authorities say told him to kill.
