Two charged with murder of Norwood Park man: police

Authorities are accusing two men of killing a Norwood Park man found bound up with duct tape and an electrical cord in his home earlier this week.

Geiderwuin Bello Morales, 21, and Jefferson Ubilla-Delgado, 29, each face charges of felony murder and robbing a victim over the age of 60 in connection with the death of George Levin.

Levin, 63, was discovered in the basement of the home in the 7600 block of West Talcott Avenue he shared with his mother and older sister late Sunday night. Levin’s family declined to comment by way of a sign posted to their front door.

According to a police report, Levin’s sister encountered a man when she went downstairs to check on her brother Sunday evening and asked if her brother was OK. The man reportedly said that he would have Levin call his sister. His keys, wallet and phone were all missing when he was found, according to the report.

Bello Morales was arrested Jan. 12 and accused of beckoning a 13-year-old girl over to a car on the Far Northwest Side, records show. He was charged with simple assault and charging documents state he “gestured towards (the girl) to come over to his vehicle.”

A police report from that arrest lists Venezuela as Bello Morales’ place of birth, but did not list his immigration status. A search for previous Cook County court records under Ubilla-Delgado’s name did not return results.

Both suspects are residents of the same block in the Norwood Park neighborhood, according to police. They are scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing Saturday.
