After two men failed to break into the safe of a business in Englewood during an attempted burglary on Sunday night, they set the building on fire, Chicago police said.
At just before midnight on Sunday, two men used bolt cutters to enter a business in the 5800 block of south Ashland Avenue and then unsuccessfully tried to open a safe, police said.
They then used an accelerant to start a fire at the building, which did not cause any injuries, according to police.
No one is in custody. The Chicago Police Department’s arson unit is investigating.
