A female victim was discovered fatally wounded overnight on a sidewalk in the Dearborn Homes neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
About 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, an unidentified victim was discovered on the sidewalk in the first block of west 27th Street with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No other details surrounding the fatal shooting were available, and no one was in custody. Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
