A woman was shot and killed Sunday in what police are calling a domestic incident in Barrington.
The victim was identified Monday as 42-year-old Olga Ducon of Vernon Hills. Barrington police issued a statement Monday saying the shooting was related to an altercation between family members, adding there is no related threat to the public.
Police did not say whether anyone was in custody.
Authorities were called at around 5:40 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of West Russell Street for a report of a shooting victim. Officers arrived and found Ducon with an apparent gunshot wound.
Paramedics from the Barrington Fire Department treated Ducon and transported her to Good Shepherd Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is continuing.
