‘We were the people who stepped forward and helped protect the country,” said Mike Formento, a Navy yeoman during the Korean War, at a Veterans Day ceremony in Glen Ellyn Saturday. Veterans were honored at services and presentations throughout the suburbs on Friday and Saturday.
