An unidentified male victim was left in critical condition overnight after being stabbed in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, the victim was walking in the 300 block of South Homan Avenue when he was approached by three people who pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him, police said.
The victim suffered lacerations to the chest and shoulder, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The suspects fled north from the scene on foot. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
