Nearly a week after the deadly mass shooting that shattered Highland Park’s celebration of Independence Day, the city’s downtown Central Avenue reopened Sunday to residents and visitors. “We’re going to be scared for a while,” said Sandro Alcantar, manager of Walker Bros. Original Pancake House.
