Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora has begun replacing inaccurate and offensive portrayals of Native Americans that are based on the school’s Warriors nickname. The multiyear program includes a new mural and other items honoring and telling the true story of Chief Waubonsie and the Potawatomi people who lived for hundreds of years in the region.
